IT volunteers
CoolTan Arts is looking for volunteers to provide general IT support which is crucial for the smooth running of the office. Duties include: ensuring back up of computer systems and data, general maintenance relating to hardware and software, creating strategies and advising staff on efficient IT use, helping to obtain funding for IT resources, informing staff or volunteers of best practice IT, any ad hoc duties. We are looking for people who might be interested in contributing stories about mental health and the labels that you have been given for our podcasts, as a part of an ongoing project at CoolTan Arts, our Funny Farm web site and forum. It could be funny, shocking, inspiring, or simply yours; tell us about the labels you have been confronted with in life, at work and/or in hospital; learn to record and create conversations online and meet people; share and listen to your own stories. Do you want to make an impact on mental health services? CoolTan Arts, a charity set up by people with mental distress in 1996 are looking for a very special person with excellent training and advocacy expertise, to deliver our new Advocacy Training program. We aim to promote positive mental health/well being, bringing about a change in how participants perceive themselves, enabling people to gain greater focus and to re-establish their relationship with society. We achieve this through quality arts education, well-being and support services. This project aims to provide advocacy skills training for people who experience mental distress who have had experiences of not being listened, so that they can have a voice in everyday situations. CoolTan Arts is a charity set up by people with mental distress in 1996, with a focus on activity and participation we are looking for an experienced administrator and receptionist. The successful applicant will be a self-motivated with an abundance of creative ideas to ensure the office and reception runs smoothly. The applicant must demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised, use their own initiative and communicate appropriately with a diverse range of people. You will need to be a good team player. A sense of humour is essential, as is an understanding of the vital relationship of the arts to mental health. Read More
